No doubt, the English Premier League is one of the best among all its other footballing counterparts. It can be easily termed as one of the most competitive and demanding footballing environments in the world.
However, this toughness and popularity have led to unearthing some of the most prominent players in footballing history.
The brand new 2018-19 EPL season is going to start pretty soon. As always, we are ready to kick start this season by ranking top soccer players per position in the division.
Once the EPL starts, we will turn this list into a rolling, performance-wise ranking. However, as of now, we have accumulated an overall ranking of the best.
Note: We have tried our best not to include any severely injured player on the list. That includes Laurent Koscielny and Manuel Lanzin who are probably going to miss this EPL season.
Five: David De Gea (Goalkeeper) Manchester United
When it comes to goalkeeping, there are very few players who we can compare with David De Gea. Even with the pretty horrible World Cup, David De Gea’s position at the top of the goalkeeper rankings is tough to change.
Even in the Manchester United matches, ‘Dave saves’ has become a familiar chant. David De Gea is undoubtedly an excellent shot-stopper and probably the best goalkeeper in the world right now.
Four: David Silva (Midfielder) Manchester City
The Spanish midfielder, David Silva, has wholly transformed the beautiful and elegant football season this year. Playing under Manchester City, the 32-year-old footballer has most epitomizes the City style of play.
Formerly David Silva was playing under Valencia. His performance this season was simply superb. The entire season the game was dictated and play with his quick and incisive passing.
In his short 24 appearances in the Premier League, he has already got nine assists and scored eight goals. This achievement earns him a title as one of the best players playing under Manchester City in this free-flowing City side.
Three: Harry Kane (Forward) Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane, with his one after other excellent performances in the last few seasons, has proved all his critics wrong. Initially, he was titled as a “one-season wonder,” however, with his stunning performances for Tottenham Hotspur, he has established himself as one of the elite forwards of world football.
This season there was much speculation about Kane playing with top European clubs, but in the recent interview, he has declared he’s going to stay in Tottenham’s new stadium next season.
Second: Kevin De Bruyne (Midfielder) Manchester City
Kevin De Bruyne can be easily termed as a jewel in the Manchester City crown. He has become one of the sole reasons behind Manchester City’s dominance this season.
The Belgian midfielder has taken his game to the next level under coach Pep Guardiola. With his winning streak, the 26-year-old Belgian playmaker is one of the top contenders to win the PFA Player of the Year award this year.
First Mohamed Salah (Forward) Liverpool
This season Mohamed Salah proved himself to be the best signing that happened this year. The Liverpool forward has astonished everyone with his impact in the game and also by showing no signs of slowing down in recent times.
The Egyptian winger is the top contender of Golden Boot this season, 2019.
